Erdogan - Trump - Secularism.

The ruling in Turkey is very close to being a rogue state. Turkey should be proud to be the leader of the world only when it comes to the number of jailed journalists. You are considered guilty unless proven innocent in Turkey. Many things operate in reverse order in Turkey. The majority of Turkish people is still voting for the Islamist government of Erdogan. Perhaps, there is no true secularism in the US, and perhaps it is not in the norm that would affect the daily life of its citizens and no-one really bothers if that is so to that end but Turkey is not even on the same comparison scale. Turkey is probably the fastest down-sloping country in the world where the pressure of religion is being felt at every social institution, the most dramatic being in the judicial system. When the rape cases involving minors slip through with minimal sentencing due to religious practices, when liberal minded journalists were attacked brutally, the instigators get minimal jail term if not none at all, all that is left from  a once pseudo-secular republic is a dream of the past. What we discuss in the US is the insurance premiums and how it will be decided among pro-choice and pro-abortion proponents and thats the most it comes down to when the religion is affecting politics. 

It is not to say that the US is advanced enough having founded on Jeffersonian principles more than two hundred years ago, to consider a self declared atheist to be a presidential candidate. The trend is there but it is still too far for the US to be anywhere close to that mind set. But comparing US with Turkey for how the religion is affecting the social life of its citizens is like correlating the number of rats living in NY's underground with the number of stars in the universe. 

Turkey is founded by Ataturk, a genius on many fronts and a combination of Washington and Jefferson in one body and mind. He was able to stop the destruction of Islam on his millet, and tried to put the Turkish nation in a western minded secular mold. It did succeed as much as the vertical revolutions go by in the history of social reforms and revolutions. It is an incredible accomplishment by all accounts particularly when the perspective of the dire situation of Europe’s ”sick man” is considered back in 1920s. The literacy rate was in thousandths in females, in ten thousands in medical personnel, yet alone finding an able body to put as a minister was like finding a needle in the hay stack. The political history of Turkey is too big to fit into a few sentences here and we digressed enough from our main point of discussion which is Turkey, secularism and the US, and maybe Trump. 

The last of these,  Trump is a shrewd business-man who likes to see the world thru his profit-hungry window and believes in power to dictate, and hence he is not a bit interested in the ideology.  He thinks implicitly all that is secular and all that is religious already omni-present and just mere words as best could be used as tools to maximize ever present profits. He is neither religious nor secular, he is too simple to think about the true meanings of these words.  He really does not care even to know or say anything ideologically profound. There is also a supporting pop-culture to this, somewhere between complete ignorance and cockiness, but also a reaction to the other side’s lack of competence. Dynasties in modern democracies should be oxymorons but yet they were not; Bushes and Clintons were just as real as the axe of Jack in the middle ages. And the resentment to this was ever more present in the last election cycle. 

However, we can not draw parallels between Trump and the Turkish politics. Turkish people has a lot of growing up to do and it may not just be possible to make that leap unless the religion is openly discussed and attacked by a determined leader. The reality is that the sleep-walking society is too large to make that leap in short amount of time to win the majority in politics, however, it is not completely lost either. For any lack of hope,  there is at least half of the country that would never vote for Erdogan. The main opposition party is proven to be ineffective and submissive to the massacre of democratic institutions in Turkey. They could not lead the people’s resentment into the street and due to this lack of challenge, the police and prosecution force became the foot soldiers of Erdogan’s government. Individual attempts by journalists and political opponents were swiftly pressed and punished. This is the era of witch hunting and closely resembles the times of Sultan Abdulhamit where there were secret police behind every public figure. 

Erdogan’s ideal is to topple Ataturk’s so-called secular Republic. The  last coup attempt was conveniently put into work to that purpose, sweeping any political opposition with a thick brush of state terrorism and treason. The inevitable outcome of this down-sloping is fast approaching, and with lira losing its value at a rate faster than the descent of Saddam’s statue, I am afraid the end result is still unpredictable, and undoubtedly it will have huge consequences for the Middle East and the general world affairs and politics.

Ben dinsiz, şovenist olmayan ve sosyalist bir politik partiyle mücadele edilmesi taraftarıyım deyince bana deli misin öyle olmaz diye itiraz ediyorsunuz. Size şimdi bu itirazınızın rasyonel bir manası olmadığını anlatmaya çalışacağım.

Kiminiz diyor ki Atatürk’ün ideasını yaymak. Yani... Türkiye’de rejim ve hükümet değişikliğine yönelik bir yayma olacak bu değil mi ? Eğer değilse hiç Türkiye’yi düşünmeden Atatürk deyin. Bu da pratikte olamıyor değil mi ? Öyleyse hiç kendimizi kandırmayalım.

Görüşünüzden feragat etmek istiyor musunuz ? Zannedersem Hayır! Bu birinci Hayırınız.

Erdoğan'ı %50 üzerinde seçen müslüman toplumun vazcayması için dine karşı cepheden gelinmez diyorsunuz ya, peki o zaman dini ve ırkı öne çıkaran şovenist İYİ amaçlı partileri mi destekleyeceksiniz ? Zannedersem buna da Hayır diyorsunuz. Bu da ikinci Hayırınız.

O halde hem laik hem İslamcı hem Türkçü hem Kürtçü hem herşey olabilen ama işte sözde adaletli, kıytırık laik, 15 yıldır yenilmekten bıkmamış, pısırık lideriyle çakılıp kalmış CHP'yle mi birşeyler yapmayı umuyorsunuz ? Buna cevabınız zannedersem benim gibi düşündüğünüzü varsayarak yine Hayır. Bu da sizin üçüncü Hayırınız. Değilse, CHP’ye yönelik bir çalışma yürütmeniz lazım. Bu da olamıyor. Hem tıpış tıpış gittiniz hem de Yenikapı’da şakşakladınız. Yanı CHP’yi değiştiremediniz. Öyleyse kendimizi ikici defa yine kandırmayalım.

E Allah'ın hakkı üçtür :) Hatırlayalım üç defa hayır dediniz. Öyleyse lütfen beni biraz dinleyin: bakın ben size daha rasyonel bir seçenekte bulunuyorum. Eğer idelojinizden ödün vermeyecekseniz onu sonuna kadar savunun hem doğru bildiğiniz yolda mücadele etmiş olursunuz hem de amacınıza varmak için bir misyonunuz olur.

O günden bugüne İmam sınıfı akıllandı artık takiyyeyle bunları kandırmanız imkansız. Free Speech

It may offend you, you may not agree with what he is saying, but he should freely express his mind without the fear of persecution. That is exactly the point of freedom of speech. Dictators hate free speeches. Freedom of speech is a high crime and treason in this country. That is how dictators silence oppositions.

The main opposition political parties are all proved to be inept and incapable of organizing any resistance. There was finally a hope three weeks ago when such long-awaited resistance happened in a massive scale as thousands marched from Ankara to Istanbul on foot protesting the massacre of justice in Turkey, which is certainly not a small feat at any scale of imagination, 24 day ordeal crossing an up and down 500 km distance between the two biggest cities. Though, since then the complacency set back in proving the skeptics and nay-sayers who did not get impressed with the inconsequential chest pounding of the weak leadership of the opposition. The anticipated stagnant stand since then only confirmed the obvious ineffectiveness with no coordinated rigorous follow up plan of the continuation of such showdowns that could certainly bolster the hope of its people. It did not happen.

In the interim, we witness the cruelty and the injustice that rampant at an unprecedented scale each passing day in this multi-cultural society where the tensions are rising to a point of no return. However unfortunate, and damaging to its peaceful citizens, some form of civil conflict is becoming more and more eminent. Though, contrary to the common thought of its people, it will not be between the two islamic mafia leaders as it happened last year in the so-called "coup" attempt, which to this day the details are still murky but between the laiks and the cihadists. It all depends on how much longer the seculars could bear this injustice and the rapid erosion of the state of affairs towards sharia.

The bigger and perhaps the more fundamental issue for the defeat of the seculars by the Islamists in all elections since 2012 is that they too are following Islam. Being secular and following islam 'timidly' when you have a true cihadist as your opponent is a loosing hand. The opposition leadership should be knowledgable and cognizant of the fact that secularism can not reconcile with Islam, but still show mastership in playing the hand cleverly to shepherd the pious people of the inner steps of Anatolia just like its founder did. It is proved once that it could be done albeit in dire conditions fighting for independence, which some think that as an advantage that is not existing for the same kind of shepherding that needs to happen today. But I defer.

How it will pan out remains to be seen. One thing is certain though that the polarization is nakedly clear, and the people of Turkey is afraid to admit it to themselves. To this day, it is safer to speculate and blame the weaker of the two evils instead of holding both accountable that they are of the same breed and they are both equally responsible of the countless corruptions, deaths and treason. They must be tried and put into prison instead of the journalists. Though, nobody wants to get hurt since any singular opposition is silenced swiftly and indifferently. Everyone is staying away from confronting the monster with whom the clash is inevitable. Nevertheless, there is always one or few courageous journalists that never get extinct.

The final straw was the unlawful detainment of the journalists from the prominent leftist newspaper Cumhuriyet. They were held in prison in the last nine months without a charge and only this week they were finally brought before the court with mind blowing accusations from the state prosecutor. The prosecutor could not present to the court any proof of ties that could implicate these battered journalists, cartoonists, with any terrorist organization. The exchanges between the accusers and the defenders were only about what they wrote in their columns which in of itself alone is the clear indication of admitting the real nature of the charge, and that is the freedom of speech. Shame on us.

Yildim artik

Son zamanlarda Ataturk'un Suud kralina yazdigi telgraf diye birsey ortada dolasiyor. Bu tamamen, kulliyen igrenc bir yalan. Asilsizdir, kaniti yoktur. Ataturk gibi bir sahsiyetin diplomasi ve mantik kurallarini hice sayan boylesine avam bir yazi yazmis olmasi da beklenemez. Sahte yazi ne diyor bakalim: Suud krali, Muhammed'in mezarina dokunursan, kurtulus savasini birakir seni yakarim yikarim diyor. İddiayı bundan birkaç sene önce bir iktisat profesörü ortaya atmis (hic sasirmadim) , Dışişleri Bakanlığı’nda (bir yerde de bambaska bir yer diyor) hadisenin orijinal belgesini gördüğünü ama kopyasını almasına izin verilmediğini söylemis. Bak bak, uckagida bak sen... İbn Suud‘un peygamberin mezarını yıkmayı düşünmesinin imkânsızlığını bir tarafa bırakın, Türk birliklerinin kurtarilacak bir vatan varken, Mekke’ye kadar nasıl gidecekleri, İngiliz idaresindeki Irak ile Fransız mandası altındaki Suriye’den nasıl geçecekleri düşünülmeden, ortaya atılan bu tuhaf iddia da palavradan ibarettir. Üstelik, arşivlerde de bu konu hakkında tek bir belge yoktur! Suud kralligi 1919'da yok. 1919'da Mustafa Kemal, Ataturk ismi almamis, Suud'a telgraf cekmek imkansiz. Kimisi 1926'da atilmis diyor, peki o zaman da Kurtulus savasi zaten kazanilmisti. Yani nereden baksan "manufactured" amatorce kurgulanmis bir yalan. Cok benzer birseyleri hatirlatiyor, degil mi ? Gizli taniklar, sehven telefon kayitlari, duzmece dijital belgeler... Bu resmi daha once de gormustuk.

Ozellikle 1919'da kurtarilacak bir vatan varken Ataturk'un bu tur islerle ugrasacak saniyesi yoktur. Bunlari da gecelim, Ataturk'u has elhamdullillah musluman gibi gostermeye calisanlarin gercek amaci bellidir. Ataturk'un Islam icin soyledikleri ve yazdiklarina hic gecmeden, ne yaptigini gormek yeterlidir. Hilafeti, tarikatlari, peseyi, tesetturu, sarigi, fesi yirtip atan kim ? Dinden beyni sulanmis hafiza donen milleti uyandirmak icin Arab'in sacmaliklarini tercume ettirip bu millete okutacam diyen kimdir ? Ikre bismil rabbi safsalariyla kafasi uyusmus Turk milleti millet olma rabitasini yitirmistir diyen kimdir ? Sanati, ilmi rehber gosterip, biz gokten indigi farzedilen kitaplardan ilham almayiz diyen kimdir ? Bunlari ve daha fazlasini binlece defa yazdik. Bircogunuz bana ah yazik, dinle kafayi bozmus, bulasmamak lazim, diye omuz silkti. Farkindayim. Ama kim kimi kandiriyor. Bunlari gormek istemeyip, sirf kendilerini kandiran kesim Ataturk'u elhamdullillah musluman gibi gostermeye niye calisir. Neden ? Ataturk'e ve Turkiye'ye en buyuk hainligi yapan aslinda tam da bu kesimdir. Islama odun veren Islamcilarla savasamaz, ancak onlara mama olur. Turkiye'de olan biten de budur. Hic utanip sikilmaya gerek yok, okumanizi kimse engellemiyor.. Ne Nutuk’u, ne Medeni Bilgiler'i, ne de bes para etmez besleri bilirler. Islam tarihini ve kitabinin ne yazdigi duymazdan, bilmezden gelirler. Buna aymazlik denir. Omuz silkmekle gecmez.

Amerika'da Avrupa'da ust yerlere dahi gelebilirler, doktor olurlar, avukat olurlar, dekan olurlar ancak ne yazikdir ki, halen kendilerini yabanci ve magdur hissedecek kadar ruhlari ezik, kafalari Islmala muhurludur.

Bazilari da sunu der, bizim inancimiz Suud'dan farkli derler. Bizim Islam anlayisimiz Anadolu Islamidir der. Peki bu elhamdullilah Ataturkculer'e soruyorum sizin peygamber efendiniz farkli mi sizin kitabiniz farkli mi ? Acaba ganimetin nasil paylasilacagini ve kadinlari seks objesi olarak goren ayetler yazmis baska bir Muhammed'e mi inanirsiniz, kimdir sizin peygamber efendiniz ? Dunyayi domine etmek icin kendinden olmayanlara cihat ilan etmis bir baska kitap midir ? Sizin Kitabinizin ismi nedir ? Ogrenmek istiyorum. Kendinizi kandirmayin. Bu AKP hukumranligi bizzat sizin Islamla yetismisliginizin ve ahiret korkularinizin neticesidir. Ataturkculuk akilciliktir derken neden Islam’a deginmezsiniz, tabumudur ? Gercekleri soylemekten korkan "gercek Islam bu degil" kerizine yatan sozde aydinlara soruyorum. Biraz da kelimenin anlamini bir kere olsun dogru irdeleyin, gercekten “akilci" olun, sirf boyle yetistirildiginiz icin akla, mantiga, humaniteye karsi daha ne kadar bu din kandirmacasina tahammul edeceksiniz? Ben edemiyorum, kusura bakmayin.

Vahim yanilsama

Islam'i kullanilan bir silah gibi gormek Islam'in gercek amacini ve gucunu aza indirgemek olur. Anti-emperyalistcilerin de yapmak istedigi Erdogan ve 15 Temmuz tekbircilerini gormezden gelip her serri Emperyalizme yikmaktir. Bu yanilsama bize cok pahaliya patliyor. Cunku Islam da anti-emperyalistciler de, "dis mihraklar" konseptinde kanaat birligi yapmis durumdalar. Hatta bu yolla Islam daha cok yol katedip, herkesin gozu onunde itirazsiz hayal bile edemeyecegi derecede laik Cumhuriyet'e karsi kolay zaferler kazaniyor, daha rahat recruit buluyor kendine. Bence soylenilenin aksine, Islam emperyalizmin kullandigi bir silah olmadigi gibi, tam tersi, emperyalizmi kullanan bizzati Islamdir. Islam illa bir emperyalist somurucu veya cikarci anlayisa hizmet etmeye gerek duymaz, cihat misyonunu yerine getirmekle kendi emelini gerceklestirir. 

Bir insanin kendini patlatmasini,  tuketim patronluguna hizmetle aciklayamazsiniz. Siayeye gelmeden once, hatta Amerika dahi kurulmadan cok daha onceleri bile her cagda Islam'in kudretini gormek mumkundur - Islamiyet, bugunku Ortadogu halklarinin, medeniyetsizligini, yoksullugunu ve kullugunu yuzyillardir somurmustur. Muhammed'in Islam'i, bu yuksek dogum artis hiziyla giderse, pek yakin gelecekte,  dunyadaki aymaz, ve uyur gezer liberal politikalarin bir sonucu olarak her gecen gun daha da guclenerek dunyaya hakim olacaktir. Bir an evvel Islam'in ilerleyisinin durdurulmasi gerekmektedir. Goze goz, dise dis. Islam'in kor bicagini boynunda hissetmeyen kendinde bu savasma azmini bulamaz. Islam'la basa cikmak icin Allah'a iman gucune karsi, akla iman ederek, akilla savasmaktan baska caremiz yok. Akilli, cesur ve hatta acimasiz olamazsak Islam'a boyun egeriz, yenilir, suru ve kul oluruz. Islam'a yenilen milletler kisiliklerini yitirirler, dilleri yozlasir ve kulturleri Arabesklesir. Ayni Turkiye'de oldugu gibi. Cunku, ummet toplumunun tek ortak kulturu Kuran'in isledigi Arap kulturudur. 

KENDIMIZE MAKUS BIR BAKIS

Yanliz yasamaya alismis bireylerin savunma mekanizmasi, olaylar karsisinda kendi aldigi tavirlari sorgulamaktansa en kolay yolu secip birilerini, birseyleri suclamak seklinde oluyor genellikle. Aptallar, embesiller, irkcilar, fasitler, komunistler, yobazlar, Ataturkculer, kizilbaslar, Amerikancilar, ulkuculer, seviciler, transeksueller, vesaire...Bu sifatlandirmalar aslinda yasamin kendinde icsel olarak var. Bir gruba aidiyet duydugunda  kendini daha guclu hisseder insan. Hayatta kalma, daha iyi yasayabilme, statukosunu yukari cekmek icin gruplasmak, varolmanin en temel kanunudur. Grup dinamiginin bir neticesi olarak,  dogrulugu su goturmez olaylari bile yargilarken, eger cogunluk yanlis derse,  sagduyuyu ve akli bir kenara itip cogunluga uymak da bu sekilde izah edilebilir.

Grubun rituellerine ve duzenine itaat, grubun guclulugu icin vazgecilmez bireysel bir sorumluluk. Ancak baskaldiri da degisimin vazgecilmezi. Oyleyse eger aykiri bir ses cikarsa, toplum onu bastirsa dahi, eger mesaj kuvvetliyse o sesi dinleyenler elbette olacaktir. Belki baslangicta cekinerek ancak sonradan ivmelenerek buyuyen bir baska grup yaratma aslinda yarismaciligi odullendiren dongude kacinilmaz bir sonuc.  Buyuk balik kucuk baligi yer. Kendini yenileyememis, degisimden korkan iktidarlar daima kaybeder. Kapitalist rejim, bu acimasiz yasam kanununa adapte oldugu icin tum dunyaya hukmedebiliyor. Ideolojiler topla tufekle olmezler, ancak kendi kendilerini yokedebilirler. Nasil Komunizm kendi kendini yoketmisse, Kapitalizm de dunyayi bitirdiginde yok olmaya mahkumdur. Ismi ustunde harcayacak, somurecek birsey kalmayana kadar Kapitalizm devam edecektir.

Eger surekli yenilgiye ugruyorsaniz, kendinizi degistirmelisiniz. CHP’den ornek verelim. Genel Baskani dokuz secimdir kaybediyor, ve sirf kendi insiyatifiyle tum Turkiye’ye bir baska dinciyi tek aday olarak dayatip husrana ugramasina ragmen istifa etmeden koltugunda oturmaya halen devam edebiliyor. Gectigimiz son bes yil boyunca degisime direnen CHP, Turkiye'nin de onunu tikamis, dikta duzeniyle mucadeledeki basarisizligi  halki aciz birakmistir. Ancak oncelerde bahsettigimiz gibi hatasinda israrci olan bireylerin gruba hakimiyeti de, o grubu zayiflatir ve bitirir. 

Toplumun icindeki gruplarin kendi ust kimliklerini belirlerken secici olmalari gerekir. Bununla birlikte gruba koru korune baglilik bireysel zayifligin da bir gostergesidir.  Kultur ve dil ortakligi, yasami paylasmislik en dogal ve akilci ust kimlik tanimidir. Peki din birligi de ust kimlik olamaz mi ? Elbette olur, bu yolda birlesenlere ummet deniyor. Ummetin en buyuk sorunu ise grubun bireylerinin birbirleriyle anlasabilecegi ortak bir dilin ve kulturun olmamasi. Ancak ust kimligin icinde kuvvetli olan bazi alt gruplar ust kimligin ozelliklerini degistirebilirler.  Esasen Islam Araplar icin yazilmis bir Arap dinidir. Kulturun de Araplasmasi bu acidan gayet dogaldir. Turkiye’de Islam kuvvetlendikce, Arap kulturunun egemen oldugunu cok rahat gozlemleyebilirsiniz.

Her bir dakikada, dunyada binlerce hayvan kafalarina sikilan tabancayla olduruluyor. Neden ? Etleri icin. Fikirleri icin oldurulen insanlari dusundukce vahsice etleri icin oldurulen masum hayvanlar geliyor aklima. Dunyaya duz demedikleri icin oldurulduler, ozgurluk sarkilari soyledikleri icin yakildilar,  sevdikleri icin taslandilar, cocuk yasta kizlar ergenliklerini yasayamadan babalari yasinda ihtiyarlarin altinda seks kolesi oluyorlar, karikaturistler, yazarlar, sosyal medyada sirf fikirlerini paylastiklari icin tevkif edilip hapse tikiliyorlar. Bireylerin gruba itaat etmeyip baskaldirmasi icin bireyin o gruba aidiyetini torpulemesi gereklidir. Bu ise Turkiye’de olamiyor. Cunku birey olarak ezik yetistirildik. Millet ve ummet kavramlari birbirine karisik Turkiye'de. Halbuki kendine guvenen bireyler korkmadan statukoyu degistirebilirler. Bu olmuyor. Ne toplumda, ne de Turk siyasetinde bu cesur atlamalar yapilamiyor. Kacis psikolojimiz bize, bizim haricimizde hayali dusmanlar, dis mihraklar urettirdi. Evet bu mihraklar hep vardi, ancak kendi zayifligimizi sorgulayip kabullenmektense hep aklimizda sanal hedefler yarattik. Ne zaman bir cukura girsek, tepetaklak olsak, sucu kendimizde aramak yerine hep onlara attik, peki biz kendimizi yeterince sorguluyor muyuz?  Aslinda biz kimiz ? Kilicdaroglu mu ? Bahceli mi ? Yoksa Erdogan mi ? Esas temel sorun bence burada. Kendimizi hep bir grup profili uzerinden ifade ettik. Ne zaman ki biz ezik ve guvensiz bireyler olmaktan kurtuluruz o zaman yasam dinamigimizi olumlu yonde sekillendirebilir, gelecegimizi degistirebiliriz. 

Axis of Evils

A bit long but trust me, there is no BS, and hope it is educational for some,  "Ikre":

1. Islamists should never be backed either as armed militia or political parties since sooner or later it backfires at you as it surely did many times in the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iran and finally Turkey.  Preferential treatment of Saudis continued for many decades over multiple presidents; Bush was brotherly hopping along with King Abdullah hand in hand and Obama with a bouquet of flowers fetched to celebrate the King's birthday in his final days. By now, you would think the lessons should be learned about the dangers of  backing any form of Islam.  You are wrong! Trump was also quick to approve the remaining big portion of the multi billion dollar aid to SA, the biggest spenders in arms purchases before the end of his first month. Is it too far fetched to think of the possibility that these aids to Saudis redirected to smuggle arms to IS ? After all,  isn't it a very convenient way of rotating tax payer's money to the pockets of arms dealers ?

2. All nuclear heads in Iraq had been accounted for by the UN weapons inspectors during pre-invasion years. The report prepared and signed by Scott Ridder, back then an Albany NY resident, US weapons inspector, heavily criticized Rumsfeld and Cheney who despite were given the report had come out of the “intelligence" meeting declaring to the media that they had no doubts about Saddam’s WMDs. They lied. The Report was giving detailed accounts of 99 warheads all of which were either destroyed or found already unusable. They also indicated that the country is in no condition to have the technology to manufacture warheads in the next 10 year period. One million people marched in London and elsewhere in big numbers against this unjust invasion, but yet nobody cared, not even the liberal media in US cared one bit. They were blinded and carried away from the memories of 9/11 and were anxious to punish someone, and it did not matter who. After all who could have argued toppling a dictator - right ? Though, many years later they acknowledged that they did not do enough to question legitimacy of the bogus WMD claims. Even the ex-British PM, Tony Blair admitted the lack of evidence reluctantly just a couple of months ago after all the dust has settled for him in his career.

3.Iraq is a majority Sunni country. The Iraqi army was mostly sunnis and they did not shoot a bullet during the invasion. However, the Iraqi government was handed over to Shiites and that caused anger and animosity between these two sects which was already brewing and eventually left thousands of Iraqi army soldiers jobless but with their guns. When US eventually pulled back, Shiite leadership was not accepted by the Sunnis. This was the vacuum that everyone was referring to. It should not be a surprise to anyone that the revenge hungry Sunnis created the core of IS.  The ex-Iraqi generals took the leadership role in the early years of IS and proved themselves worthy by taking control of the vast territories in Iraq and parts of Syria swiftly. If we do not understand the circumstances how this evil group came to existence, there is no expectation that we can find any resolution. The resentment towards US's Iraq invasion, the bombs that killed innocents as collateral damage, snubbing Sunni Iraqis from power all made it become so easy for IS to recruit many in the name of Allah to destroy the “infidel”.

4.The most arms sales were made consistently in the last 20 years from these countries in this order US-UK-Russia-China-France-Germany with hush-hush non-existing scrutiny to whoever the sale slips were made to. It should not surprise anyone to know that the top gun purchasers were consistently from these countries in this order SA, UAE, Turkey, Qatar, SKorea, India, Singapore, AUS, Iraq, Egypt. When we see IS videos, those brand new Toyota trucks loaded with guns, I think we can make the connection, cant we ?
